A crown is cap that fits over the tooth and is permanently fixed onto a tooth.

Crown may also be fixed to a post which fits into the root of the tooth. Crowns are recommended when a tooth is badly broken down and the root is intact. They are also recommended where teeth may have been damaged i.e. accident or trauma.

There are different types of crowns:
  • Porcelain
  • Gold bonded to porcelain
2 visits are required each approx 45 minutes.
  • Preparation of tooth.
  • Permanent cementation of the crown.
